Thank you for taking an interest in our congregation. We are the Foxborough Universalist Church, a Unitarian Universalist congregation, and are located
at 6 Bird Street (the top of the common) in Foxborough, MA. Our phone number is 508-543-4002; feel free to call the Minister Katie Lawson, or contact or e-mail the Membership Chairperson or the Board of Trustees at office@uufoxborough.org with any questions you may have. Below you will find answers to some commonly asked questions and other places to look for further information about UUism in general.

What should you expect during your first visit to our church?
People assemble in the upstairs of the church for our 10:00
am Sunday services. Services last for about an hour and are followed
by a Friendship hour downstairs afterwards. Dress as you feel comfortable;
an uncomfortable visitor is an unhappy visitor. Services include
a talk-back and Joys and Concerns section.
Are there any xxxx people in your congregation?
We are a diverse group of people and gladly welcome all.
Who is welcome to attend a service?
Any one and everyone is welcome to attend. We also have a Sunday School that provides Religious Education to the children while the rest of the congregation participates in Worship Services. RE Classes are not held during Intergenerational Services.

Are there large print hymnals or sign language interpreters available?
There are large print hymnals available. There are no sign language interpreters at this time.
I'm xx years old, are there any people near my age in the church? Same for my kids who are x, x, and xx?
Our congregants range in age from 1 to 90's+. There probably is someone near your age group in there.
Are your members from Foxborough only? Do I have to be from here or a life-long resident of Foxboro to attend?
We have members from many local towns including: Foxborough, Mansfield, Wrentham, Norton, Plainville, Taunton, North Attleborough, Medfield, and Sharon. Some members are life-long and long-term residents of Foxborough. If you feel at home here, the more the merrier. We're not concerned with where you reside.
We do ask, but only if you feel comfortable doing so, to please sign
the guestbook if you visit. You are also welcome to take a copy of our newsletter and/or any of the brochures or pamphlets in the pamphlet rack or in the vestibule.

A Little About UUs and The UUA
The Principles of the UUA
We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote
- The inherent dignity and worth of every person;
- Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
- Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our
congregations;
- A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
- The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
The living tradition which we share draws from many sources:
- Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in
all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness
to the forces which create and uphold life;
- Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love;
- Wisdom from the world's religions which inspires our spiritual life;
- Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God's love by
loving our neighbors as ourselves;
- Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and
the results of science. and warn us against idolatries of the mind and
spirit.
- Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.

Newcomers FAQ from the UUA
What does it mean if a congregation calls itself only Unitarian or only Universalist?
The American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America consolidated in 1961. Many congregations kept their original names after the consolidation, though fully consider themselves to be Unitarian Universalist churches. For example, the First Unitarian Church of Providence, RI, is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, but retains its historical name.*
